“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”
Traditional Class Structure
Classroom Activities
Students will participate in many different learning activities in class. Lectures, discussions, presentations, quizzes, exams and games to reinforce learning are just a few examples of what to expect in class.
Online Class Activities
At Georgia Institute of EMS, we take great pride in our online learning strategies. Students will have the ability to participate in online lectures 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Hands On Labs
Hands on labs are a vital part of EMT training. EMT's must be able to apply what they have learned in the classroom in order to save lives. At GaIEMS, we will help students develop hands on skills by offering skill labs and simulation exercises based on real life experiences in the field.
Field Clinical Training
Clinical training is often cited as being the funnest part of the course. Here, students will ride with an experienced EMT preceptor that will introduce them to working in the field working with actual patients.
Featured Class: Traditional EMT Course
At GaIEMS we take great pride in our award winning EMT programs. We have educated students that have become leaders in the industry from around the country, many of which chose the Traditional EMT Program.
The Traditional EMT Program builds students in EMS by utilizing some of the most experienced faculty. Our Traditional Program utilizes 4 core areas: In Class Learning, Hybrid / Online Learning, Hands On Labs, and In Field Clinical Learning.
The Traditional EMT Class typically meets one night a week on campus. Students are also required to set aside an additional day a week for online participation. Online participation days are typically flexible as long as the student submits / completes assignments by the due date.
Please note that class days and times can vary per class. Each class will have a published calendar available for students to review before signing up.
